Hperloop Project: Elon Musk – the tech geek surprises announcing a new record for Hyperloop achieved by a Tesla capsule

The Hyperloop project may not give news in months or give them all together. The winning tech geek group of the Hyperloop Pod Competition, the German WARR, beat the speed record of a Hyperloop capsule for 324 kilometers per hour a few days ago. But the joy has lasted little. A capsule designed by Tesla. And has reached a speed of 355 kilometers per hour, and the target of 400 is getting closer.

However, those of Elon Musk does not seem to be satisfied with that. And according to announce, the CEO can surpass the 500 kilometers per hour next month thanks to small modifications. We speak of a speed that is already half the speed of sound. And that would be half of the estimated by tech geeks, between 1,000 and 1,200 kilometers per hour.

What is most surprising about the release is not the record, because if experienced geeks have been able to achieve good figures. The surprise is, however, that they have definitely launched to enter in some way in the project Hyperloop. Because until now the involvement of Elon Musk was not sponsoring events with SpaceX. After making public in 2013 the document that was born what is Hyperloop, the largest terrestrial alternative to the high-speed train.

The expert geek Elon Musk said that having ready-to-test prototypes would take one or two years if it was his priority. But at the same time acknowledged that it was far from being his priority. As shown by the attention he has given to SpaceX and Tesla, but also to other projects like Neuralink, with which it wants to create computer-brain interfaces. What Musk has done is to give Hyperloop wings using the idea of capsule transport in the tunnels he wants to dig with The Boring Company.

The test track that is being used is the same one on which the previous record was beaten, of little more than a kilometer. The next thing for the companies involved, Hyperloop Transportation Technologies and Hyperloop One. The companies focused on commercialization, must be to make tests more and more real because in controlled environments many technologies are satisfactory.

The 10 best possible routes for the future of Hyperloop

Hyperloop One publishes the winners of a contest where it was asked to design a valid route project to join points of interest.

At the height of the Hyperloop project, with two-speed records in a few weeks and several competitions with hundreds of tech geeks throughout the world. Hyperloop One announced the winners of one in which participants were asked to bring ideas about the best routes for the ground-based ground transportation system devised by Elon Musk. The routes are as follows:

U.S

Cheyenne – Denver – Puelbo (360 miles)
Chicago – Columbus – Pittsburgh (488 miles)
Miami – Orlando (257 miles)
Dallas – Houston (640 miles)

United Kingdom

Edinburgh – London (414 miles) Glasgow – Liverpool (339 miles)

Mexico

DF – Guadalajara (330 miles)

India

Bengaluru – Chennai (208 miles)
Bombay – Chennai (685 miles)

Glen

Toronto – Montreal (400 miles)

As we see, when choosing the winning routes, Hyperloop One has been very fair and has not only focused on developed countries. With the idea of turning it into a project that favors disadvantaged regions in order to express its regional power. The company wants to convert the new means of transport into what was once the plane or the high-speed train.

The next stage of the competition consists in seeing the plausibility of each route. That is, analyzing the market, predicting commercial movements, contacting authorities as a lobby to understand what can go ahead and what not according to regulation, etc. In such processes, political and business alliances are always essential, and the process of making them strong is by no means short.

In that sense, Hyperloop One already has contact and is working with the Colorado Department of Transportation to study the Cheyenne – Denver – Pueblo route. In total, Hyperloop One estimates that with these routes would reach a population of 150 million people joining 53 urban centers, along 6,632 kilometers.

The company expects that, by 2021, three of these routes will be in commercial operation. It seems very soon but we must remember that in similar time frames are moving ideas such as the human being conquered Mars, and seem much more outlandish.
